Off the back of a roof audit in 2021 to determine suitability for the installation of solar panels, JXB were engaged to design & construct a structural strengthening solution for building 1. Strengthening included the installation of custom fabricated haunches, column stiffeners & construction of a steel portal frame. These works were carried out in a 24/7, busy DHL warehouse, with minimal impact to their day to day operations. The JXB team worked in a live environment, coordinating multiple mobile plant and cranes to achieve a safe and efficient solution.

To further improve the site’s energy efficiency, we also worked closely with a mechanical engineer and delivered a new high efficiency HVAC system throughout their office & warehouse areas. Upgrades to the grated drains throughout their hardstand area, were also completed to satisfy the constant, heavy vehicle activity. The key to such a successful project was the critical stage planning of the works, the harmonious relationship with the tenant & the skilful coordination and management of the high risk works.
